Scope of Practice: Provides primary, specialty and subspecialty care for women of all ages. Evaluates, manages and treats uncomplicated and high risk pregnancies, disorders of the breast, genitalia and internal pelvic structure (such as prolapse or incontinence), family planning and contraception. Treats gynecologic cancers (for more extensive cancers, the department provides support to gynecologic oncologists), peri-menopausal and menopausal symptoms and issues, infertility. Procedures include hysteroscopy, endometrial biopsies, colonposcopy, cryotherapy, LEEP, C-sections, cerclage, amniocentesis, laparoscopy, laparoscopic assisted vaginal hysterectomy (LAVH), laparoscopic supracervical hysterectomy (LSH), endometrial ablation for heavy menses, bladder and rectocele repairs. |
