May is Mental Health Awareness Month
According to the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) 1 in 5 Americans will be affected by a mental health condition in their lifetime and every American is affected or impacted through their friends and family. As many as 9.5 % of the population, age 18 and older, have a mood disorder and about 18% of American adults have an anxiety disorder. Research shows that half of all lifetime cases of mental illness begin by age 14.
